A Personal Inspiration Board

REPLY TO RED
An exploration of the interaction between line and color. It is inspired by the work of Surrealist artist, Yves Tanguy. The use of vinyl is a representation of Tanguy’s almost invisible shapes and contrasted by the bright colored organic shapes that are a signature in his paintings.
The background of the photographs was constructed using the leftover fabric scraps of the garments, therefore, allowing the garments to purposefully blend in to their surroundings. In this way, the garments are existing within Tanguy’s painting.
